Coastal Authority filed for patent protection in the spring of 2014 for its inaugural product, the ISO Board. “ISO” is a word derived from the Greek isos, meaning “equal”, which is the root for the prefix “iso-” that occurs in a host of terms, such as “isometric” (of equal measure or dimensions). The product fills a gap in the balance board trainer industry providing a multi-axis balance device primarily focusing on the Stand Up Paddle Board market, but enhancing the customer’s diversity of choices for a premium balance training system in the surf, skate, wakeboard, snowboard and other sports desiring a unique graduated balance training system. The ISO Board is made in America and hand-crafted using only high quality materials and natural wood.
CA is a new, start-up company owned and operated by Mr. Brian Crist, a service-disabled combat veteran from the Naval Special Warfare community following a highly successful 20+ year career in the United States Navy. Our company logo is taken from the coastal culture of Virginia Beach, VA showcasing a rendering of the sculpture dedicated to the city of Virginia Beach on September 20, 2005 during the Neptune Festival Boardwalk Weekend. It now graces the Boardwalk at 31st Street, overlooking Neptune’s Park. The heroic visage honors the maritime legacy of Virginia Beach while also standing as a vivid reminder of the community’s duty to respect and protect our natural blessings, displaying the strength and vision of the community.
